Join members of Shoals Astronomy Club at LaGrange College Site Park in Leighton for a night sky tour Friday March 17, 2023. Weather permitting, the roof will roll off the historic LaGrange Observatory at 6:30 p.m., and amateur astronomers will curate a night sky tour as darkness falls. There is no fee to attend, but donations will be accepted.
Shoals Astronomy Club, a local group of amateur astronomers, will show star-forming regions, supernova remnants, and beautiful star clusters through their club telescope. They encourage people of all ages to attend and enjoy the limitless beauty of a night sky.
This event is weather-dependent. March 18 will serve as the rain date in case of uncooperative weather. Please check the forecast before attending. To preserve the surrounding darkness, SAC members will gladly escort people to their cars on request. Please leave pets at home.
