Join members of Shoals Astronomy Club at LaGrange College Site Park in Leighton for a night sky tour Friday September 23, 2022. Weather permitting, the roof will roll off the historic LaGrange Observatory at 6:30 p.m., and amateur astronomers will curate a night sky tour as darkness falls. Donations are not required to attend, but will be accepted.
Shoals Astronomy Club, a local group of amateur astronomers, will show star-forming regions, supernova remnants, and beautiful star clusters through their club telescope. They encourage people of all ages to attend and enjoy the limitless beauty of a night sky.
This event is weather-dependent, and September 24th will serve as the rain date in case of uncooperative weather. Please check the forecast before attending. To preserve the surrounding darkness, we will gladly escort people to their cars on request. Please leave pets at home.
